2-D Christmas Tree

We decided to forgo a Christmas tree this year. That's right, no 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Hunt for us. We're just a wee bit crowded in this little apartment of ours - (this, the last, very last stop-off before our final, final very own home of our very own!! Just had to say that . . . Not that I'm bummed out by our current situation - just pumped for the next one.) So with not much space and a little crawler-grabber in our home, we made the decision. No tree.

I was relieved by that decision. But as the big day approached, I was thinking about the Christmas morning presentation. It didn't seem like a few gifts in the middle of the living room carpet would look as merry as gifts huddled beneath a tree.

So, on the 23rd of December, with wrapping paper, foam stickers and a string of lights, we made a Christmas tree.

It might just be my favorite tree, yet. And at the very least, it's one we'll remember. The tree that was in this, the last, very last stop-off before our final, final, very own home of our very own.

(Notice that rolled up, stripy present in the middle there? My favorite present from Mike: a house plan.)

Thanks for posting the tree. I really wanted to see that. Gorgeous, actually! Now I want to see the house plan! I want to see the house plan!! Come on, Come on... Remember that great day by day blog of Casey and Edith's house going up. That's what I'm talking about. This is just too exciting and you need to share it with all the kinderfarmers.

I really love that tree - so original. I mean who else had a tree like that? leave it to yous guys. I think it should be Malmborg tradition. You'll look back on these days and miss the crowded little apartments you've lived in - or maybe not. :-)

I love that Mike gave you a present that you already had. And that it was your favorite present, too. And the tree looks very nice all lit up like that.

Oh my gosh! I just saw this. I love it! It's so happy! I'm totally going to consider that instead of the little tiny trees we've been doing.
