When Mike got home from work, I showed him my sad face and the band-aid on my finger.

Me: When I was shredding cheese today, I grated my thumb.

Mike: (optimistically) What grade did you give it?

Me: How do you like your clam chowder? Is it yummy?

Chloe & Ellie: Mmmm.

Me: Someday, Dad and I will take you to Oregon. It’s a really pretty place – with an ocean. So, since there’s an ocean, they eat lots of fish, and they love to make clam chowder. Yum.

Ellie: Is there a table?

Me: In Oregon? So you can eat your clam chowder? Yes, there’s a table.

Chloe: Is Oregon bigger than Ogden?

Me: Yep.

Chloe: Whoooaah. Can we catch fish there?

Ellie: Can we sit and catch a fish in our snow clothes?

Me: We'll probably go in the summer and sit in a boat and catch crabs in cages.

Chloe: Wow.
