Chloe's pinewood derby car: THE CAT
(dedicated, as many of her projects are, to Charlie)
She raced with all the men and boys and actually beat the second place car, once.
When they began handing out ribbons, she was a little crestfallen, sure that she wasn't going to win an award.
But then, thanks to some cheering on by her cousin Lissa, and the shrewd judgment of the judges, she got a trophy!
"MOST ORIGINAL"
Afterward, Chloe said, "It was really just a block of wood, with some good designs."
Way to go, Chloe! Our Pinewood Derby Champ!

Yeah! I was mentioned! I really thought her car was super creative, so when they asked everyone what the most original one was, I just had to say Chloe!

So she does know that it's just a block of wood. That's so funny. How did it come about that she competed in a pinewood derby? I'm glad she was recognized for her originality. Those were some killer cat designs, I must say.

what a champ! those ARE really cool designs. Luke wants to be be by "the big road" SO bad! He's proud of his cousin.
We have the Pinewood Derby tomorrow. Oh boy. Not one of my favorite days...but it would be if I could race a cat car!
