Tiny Tree, Tiny Tim

Silly, us.  Last year we thought we'd be in our new digs this year.  No - but next year, next year . . . maybe.  So we return to our Christmas tree conundrum.  The solution for this year came about very practically.  There was a branch in the way of where we wanted to park, so we cut it down.  Then we pinned it to our wall - voila!  Christmas Tree.

Actually, I have a bit of a soft spot for our little evergreen bough, as hanging just a bough is the traditional Christmas tree ("eglute") in Lithuania.  I like the simplicity.  And I like that Charlie isn't tipping it over, or pulling ornaments off it.

And speaking of Charlie, while Mike, Chloe, Ellie and I were off watching A Christmas Carol, he felt left out, so he made himself Tiny Tim.

It's nothing a little ibuprofen, a cute blue cast and many, many episodes of Bob the Builder can't handle.

Thanks, Bob.
Poor Li'l Brudder.  He's got the heart of a champion!

He's just such a trooper . . . got such a strong . . . one leg.
You just keep scrapin' along, Charlie.

And in the meantime,

"God bless us!  God bless us, Every One!"

There's nothing more pathetic than a little boy with a cast. I'm sorry :(.
Your bough is so lovely. And we love you!

I love the christmas tree. My favorite tree was the one I had on my mission. Some Green Paper stuck with tape on the wall. Good Times. I am pleased as punch to see my hand crocheted Christmas stocking on the wall. It's nice to know someone uses them.

Oh my gosh!! He broke his leg? How sad. His cast is so cute. At least he can watch lots of TV now for Christmas!

I can't decide if I'm supposed to be laughing or crying with this post. If it matters, I'm doing both.

Poor little Tiny Tim. That was so sad. He's a little trooper though and was getting along just fine. I want some updated pictures of the construction!

Love the "tree" idea. You got rid of an annoying branch AND got a cmas tree. Win-win. Poor Charlie! I can't imagine putting a cast on a little man that small. :( Hope he's getting better!! Happy late Christmas!
