My first child went to her first day of Kindergarten on Monday. She logged a few protests that morning. But when we were all there (the whole family, plus 3 cousins) at the end of the driveway, we saw the bus turn onto our road. We showed Chloe, who, after glancing eastward and seeing the bus, declared, "I'm NOT excited. Well, maybe a little." And I think she really was.
We had a little drama with the buses and their strangely varying schedules this week. (Hour and a half long waits, Chloe put on the wrong bus home, for starters.) But the good news is, this morning (Friday) she got on the bus, and we were there when she got off this afternoon. I think we're getting a hang of this.

I was just telling Jenny today about all of the bus drama. That really sounded so terrible!! Glad to hear it's getting better. Cute, cute Chloe. Oh and I want to say I liked your comment about naming our girl soleil or graciella - so funny.
such a cute picture and such a beautiful girl. glad today went better. :) and her hair looks so lovely!
So pretty with that dark hair and blue eyes. Reminds me of me at her age, though she wears is cuter! And I have bus stop envy. I love the end of that dirt road. It enters my dreams sometimes--13 years of running to catch the bus. But, on the other hand, I really like my boys bus stop. It's right next to a pre-civil war cementary (20 foot by 6 foot) that the developers found when building and surrounded by a nice black wrought-iron fence.
What a darling girl! How cool is that to have cousins to ride to school with! So funny that she likes to hide her excitement. So far my kids favorite part of school is the bus ride.
Happy first days of school, Chloe!
Having been party to the bus-drama, I can only say I hope it's over.
She looks more than a little excited, to me.
I can't believe she is already a big kindergartner. How scary to have to ride a bus. She is getting so grown up.
It's a sad, sad moment to send your little person off to school. Eventually though, it's a happy, happy day to have just a few hours to scrub your toilets.
Five years sure goes fast. I can't believe she is already in school and that my baby David will be there next year. Wow.
Such a big day with so many emotions! I dropped Hannah off for third grade this year and cried the whole way home!!!
