So here’s the real reason for the slump in posting. You can expect big, big things from me in the upcoming months. And I do mean my size, not the size (or number) of babies. Nope, just one medium-sized baby, we assume. And one elephantine mommy. The comments are already pouring in, and I’ve only got one trimester down. I haven’t actually gained any weight yet, just changed shape. Ah, well. Such is the lot of a short-torso-ed gal. My 5 foot 9 sister-in-law just had a baby, and I look more pregnant than she did right before her delivery. Okay, the whining stops here.
We are thrilled! Ellie will be almost 3 years old, and hasn’t really gotten the whole baby coming thing yet, but I think she will be excited and a fun sister. Chloe’s eyes really widened and she stared at my stomach for a full minute after we told her there was a baby inside. She remembers to pray for the baby and suggested, “Baby Cracker . . . Baby Cracker? Does that seem like a good name for the baby?” I told her I would consult with dad. In the meantime, she’s told everyone that’s the name of our new baby. Mike added Bethelda. Of course, we don’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet, we’re just used to girls. (Chloe says it's a boy.)
I’m amazed at the office ultrasound machines they have now. At 12 weeks, I saw the baby open its mouth wide and move its arms around. They’re as good as, or better than, the high-tech, 20-week ultrasound we got for Chloe, four years ago. It’s so cool – and reassuring – to be able to see that, and hear the little swoosh-a-swoosh of the heartbeat. We really feel blessed and are excited to welcome the newest member of the family.

I added Bethelda? I don't remember doing that. I don't think I like that name very much. I hope I was kidding.
Hey! Congrats on that baby cracker! How cute is that!? I hope you are feeling okay! :)
caleb thinks that's a racial slur and that you should change your baby's name right away. unless it's a white baby. heh heh. we are so excited for baby what's it's name.
If it's a boy you could give him the middle name Jack. Cracker Jack has a nice ring to it! We are so happy for you to make another beautiful baby. Hey, what's up with you coming to Huntsville twice a week and not coming over here for lunch? You are always invited as long as you don't expect a clean house!
wuv-*
Congrats- that's exciting!
Yeah - it is a racial slur - for whiteys. We're definitely going to have to convince Chloe to accept a different name. Any suggestions? I guess we need to find out if it's a boy or girl first.
I am pretty sure that our little Chloe, who just turned 4, was referring to the saltine or cheese varity. I don't think she knows any racial slurs. Unless she learned them on Dora. I don't know what they are saying on that show sometimes, so I suppose it could be anything.
Yay, for a new Malambrogen! Yay! Yay! Cracker Jay!
I thought you were going to name it Burlinda?! Or Barphil, if it's a boy. Philarbra? Lindurl? (Snort!)
Um I'm glad I clicked on the comment link cause these comments are a hoot and a hanny (that means funny). I'm glad you did this post Vic because I keep forgetting that you are pregnant. This is exciting! Will you know what you are having by the time we go to China? Oh, probably right after you get home huh. Well happy baby incubating! Can't wait to see you in just a few weeks - on the other side of the world no less!
Oh, congratulations!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for and awed by you. Three. I can't imagine. You go, girl!
Yeah Victoria! I am so happy for you. I wondered if maybe you were pregnant. That is my first thought when there is a long lull in blogging! Can't wait to find out if its a boy or a girl!
Congratulations Victoria!:-)
