The other night our library had a cool Dr. Suess Birthday Party. It was advertised to have stories, a magician, treats, and other hoopla. I wasn't able to go (home with poor sick birthday baby), and Ellie fell asleep early, but Mike took Chloe.
When they got home, I asked Chloe how the party was. I asked her, "Did you like the magician??"
Her response: "Well, it was just a human doing some magic."
JUST A HUMAN???
(The funniest part about this to me was, despite her expectation of a non-human magician, she only relented and agreed to go because there were going to be treats.)

She is a cuttie. You never know what they are thinking. That's why I love when they are able to start talking.
heh heh! that is really funny, because at our elder's quorum family game night the other night jane walked around the gym looking at all the grown ups and then asked the wife of the EQ president, "where are all the humans?" meaning the kids. so jane wants humans because grown-ups are aliens, and chloe is hoping for a non-human interaction.
I'm glad I didn't go. Human magicians aren't as exciting as...well... nonhuman ones.
Oh, the humanity!
Wow, I never thought that quote would come in handy.
You really didn't miss much. But the kids liked their Cracker Jack.
You missed Edith dressed up like Horton the Elephant.
It wound have been worth it just to see Edith dressed like Horton, even if the magician was human. Was she really dressed like Horton?
Yes, elephant mask and all. There may have even been some elephant noises.
Chloe makes me laugh! She must have been so disappointed.
