Jack-o-Lantern Parade & Other Hallow's Eve Eve Fun

Jack-o-Lantern Parade

About 5 years ago, Mike and I went to a quaint little presentation of jack-o-lanterns. It took about 20 minutes to see them and then they sent us home with our pick of a couple of them, since it was the last night. So we looked it up this year and decided to go again. Whoa! There was a 40 minute line just to get to the first pumpkin! It ended up being 1 1/2 hours total. The party has grown. It got a little late for our girls, but was pretty cool anyway. There were, here's my wild guess, 562 jack-o-lanterns. Mike guesses 1500. Here are a few of our faves:

They also had a Trogdor surrounded by burning countryside, but the pic didn't turn out. All those burninated peasants for nothing.

Farm Fieldtrip

Chloe and her cousin are in preschool together, and on Tuesday, we all went to a farm for a hayride, pumpkin picking and other good "agri-tourism." There was also a corn maze, but since my sister and I had 4 kids between us, we kinda skipped that part.

Pig-Race (need I say more?):

Party at the church where the girls were - of course - China themed. Home-made Cake Walk:Happy Trick-or-Treating tonight, everyone!
(and a special shout-out to Birthday Sis! Happy 27!)

I like the 7-year-witch o'lantern. And that I don't have to wait in line so long to see it.
Nice pics.

joey says "i want to slide down that slide and see those pigs race so bad." that means he liked your post I think. trogdoor has a special place in our hearts. we're glad you included that description. and luke totally matched your girls for halloween. too bad they couldn't be chinesey all together.

cake walk? I love cake walks! I think it would be funny to do a cake walk where we actually walk on cakes. What a super fun Halloween!

I'm re-reading your blogs trying to find the German engineering photo with baby looking like Christian Slayter?
Anyway I had to comment on these girls. Chloe is of course a phenomenal beauty, and Ellie--every time I see her my heart melts because she reminds me so much of baby Victoria. Wish I could see them in person more often. Less video skype soon! We're all set up! Love, me
